That is why most people who have worn a wig for any length of time end up adjusting it constantly, tugging it back into place, or living with a cap that sits slightly too high at the front or too loose at the nape. It is not a fitting problem. It is a sizing problem, and no amount of clips and straps fully solves it.
A custom wig removes the compromise. We take your head measurements, you choose the hair, the length, the density, the colour and the cap construction, and the piece is built for you and nobody else. It fits from the first time you put it on.

Ready in Two to Four Weeks
This is the part that surprises most people.
The usual quote for a made-to-measure wig in London is eight to twelve weeks, and plenty of salons will not commit to a date at all, because they are placing an order with a third party and waiting like you are.
Ours are ready in two to four weeks. We have worked with the same hair suppliers for years, we know exactly what they can produce and how quickly, and we manage the process ourselves rather than passing it down a chain.
If you are working to a date — a wedding, a simcha, a return to work, the start of treatment — tell us at the consultation and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable. We would rather say no than miss it.
How it Works

We start by talking rather than measuring. What the wig is for, how much hair you have now, whether this is about medical hair loss, thinning, religious observance or simply wanting a different look. Whether you have worn a wig before and what did or did not work about it.
Then we try things on. We hold over a thousand wigs in stock, and trying real pieces is by far the fastest way to find out what suits you. Most people arrive with an idea of what they want and leave having chosen something different, because a picture on a screen tells you very little about how a wig sits on an actual head.
The Measurements
Seven measurements, taken by hand, takes about ten minutes.
Circumference, front to nape, ear to ear across the forehead, ear to ear over the top, temple to temple around the back, nape width, and the crown position. Together they describe your head shape, not just your head size — which is the difference between a wig that fits and a wig that fits roughly.
We also note your hairline shape, the direction your hair naturally parts, and where you want the density concentrated.
Your Specification
You choose every element. We will advise, but nothing is decided for you.
What You Choose
Hair type. European human hair for the finest, softest texture and the most natural blend with fair and Mediterranean hair types. Brazilian for more body, durability and strength through the shaft. Or high-grade synthetic if you want a style that holds itself.
Length. Anything from a short crop to 24 inches and beyond.
Colour. Any shade, including multi-tonal colour, highlights, a rooted base, or grey blended through. If you want to match your own natural colour exactly, bring a cutting or come in daylight and we will match it against your hair.
Density. Light, medium or full. This choice matters more than most people realise — over-dense wigs are the single most common reason a wig looks like a wig.
Cap construction. Lace front, full lace, silk top, skin top, monofilament, or a combination. Each does something different for comfort, parting realism and durability.
Hairline and parting. Bleached knots for an invisible hairline, a fixed or multidirectional parting, a face frame, baby hairs, or a widow's peak.
Fastening. Clips, combs, adjustable elastic straps, a grip band, or a glueless suction cap. We will recommend based on how much of your own hair you have and how you plan to wear it.
Who a Custom Wig Is For
Anyone who has never found a stock wig that fits. If you have a smaller or larger head than average, a high forehead, or a head shape that leaves gaps at the nape, this is the answer.
Anyone wearing a wig every day. A daily wig lives on your head for twelve hours at a time. The difference between an approximate fit and an exact one compounds over a year.
Anyone who wants a specific look they cannot find. A particular colour, a particular length, a particular cap. If it does not exist on the shelf, we will have it made.
Anyone with medical hair loss who needs a comfortable cap. A custom cap can be built for a sensitive scalp, with no clips and nothing gripping your own hair. When You Do Not Need a Custom Wig
We would rather tell you this at the consultation than take an order you did not need.
If you have a head size within the normal range and you are happy with how a stock piece sits, a custom wig is not going to transform anything. A good stock wig, properly cut and fitted in the salon, will look just as natural and cost you considerably less.
Custom makes sense when the fit is the problem, when you want a specification that does not exist, or when you are wearing a wig daily and the small things have started to matter. It is not automatically the better option, and we will say so.
What a Custom Wig Costs
A custom made wig is one that has been made from scratch from start to finish with your personal head measurements and hair preferences. The skill and handcraft involved is one of top expertise and involves a lot of time and craftsmanship. Our quality is the best in London and we pride ourselves on this and the aftercare service we provide. The work entailed comes at a cost and this is different to each customer based on their needs and preferences. This can be discussed at the consultation where a price and time frame will be agreed.

Common Questions
How long does a custom wig take?
Two to four weeks from the day we take your measurements to the day you collect it. That includes the fitting appointment.
Do I have to pay upfront?
We take a 50% non refundable deposit upfront when you place the order and the balance on collection. We will confirm the exact terms at your consultation.
Can you match my own hair colour exactly?
Yes but we can't guarantee a 100% exact match. Bring a cutting if you have one, or come in during daylight hours and we will aim to match against your own hair. Multi-tonal colour, highlights and blended grey are all possible. We aim to get a match as close as possible. Subtle differences are possible though.
What if it does not fit when it arrives?
It will, because it is built to your measurements. But the fitting appointment exists precisely so that anything needing adjustment gets adjusted before you take it home. Nothing leaves the salon until you are happy.
Can I have a custom wig made without hair loss?
Of course. Plenty of our custom clients simply want a specific look, or wear a wig for convenience, or observe covering their hair. There is no medical requirement.
Do you make custom sheitels?
Yes. Custom sheitels are a significant part of what we do and we have been making them for the North West London community for 25 years.
Can you make a custom wig for a child?
Yes. Children's head measurements and cap requirements differ from adults' and we handle these individually. Please call us to discuss before booking.
What if I need it faster than four weeks?
Tell us at the consultation. Depending on the specification we can sometimes work faster, and if we cannot we will tell you honestly rather than promise a date we might miss. There may be a stock piece we can customise to get you close.
