A single flat colour is the fastest way to spot a wig across a room. Real virgin hair is never one tone — it catches light differently at the crown, around the face, through the mid-lengths. 8HC is built around that principle: a rich dark brown base lifted with highlights placed through it, so the colour shifts as it moves rather than sitting flat.
The effect is subtle up close and obvious in daylight. It reads as hair that's been living in the sun, not hair that's been coloured.
The signature face frame
Our face frame is the detail clients come back for, and it's the reason this piece justifies its price.
Lighter pieces are placed deliberately around the temples, cheekbones and parting — the places the sun would naturally lift your own colour. It does two things at once. It brightens the face, which is why it flatters almost everyone. And it breaks up the front hairline, so the eye reads movement and depth instead of a single hard edge.
Combined with bleached knots — where each strand is hand-tied to the lace and the knot lightened so it doesn't show as a dark dot against the mesh — you get a hairline that looks like hair growing from scalp. That combination is what separates a convincing lace wig from an obvious one.
Brazilian hair — what it means here
Brazilian hair is thicker and stronger through the shaft than European hair, with more natural body. That makes it exceptionally durable: it holds a style longer, tolerates heat better, and stands up to daily wear.
It's also the right hair for this piece specifically. Highlighting means lifting colour, and lifting puts stress on the strand — Brazilian hair's density takes that processing without becoming brittle in a way finer hair wouldn't. The trade-off is texture: it's fuller and slightly coarser than our European pieces. If you have very fine natural hair, our European range will blend more closely. If your own hair is thick, this will feel like it.
At 18 inches it falls a few inches below the collarbone, and at medium density it moves properly rather than sitting heavy at the crown.
How it fits
Two small clips at either side of the cap and a single comb at the back. Clip in at the temples, secure the comb, and it holds.
No glue, no tape, no adhesive residue and nothing to remove at night. Please note this cap uses a back comb rather than the elastic adjustable straps found on some of our other pieces — if you need adjustability for a changing head size, ask us and we'll show you the alternatives.
Caring for highlighted hair
The highlighted sections are lightened, which makes them more porous than the base colour. Keep them looking right with a colour-safe, sulphate-free shampoo, cool water rather than hot, and moderate heat when styling. Because it's real human hair, the highlights can be professionally re-toned whenever they warm up, and the whole piece can be washed, straightened, curled and restyled.
