Silver blonde is the hardest shade in hair to get right and the easiest to get wrong. Most "silver" extensions on the market are simply pale blondes that have been under-toned, and within a few washes the brass comes back through and you're left with something yellow-grey. SB is toned properly, and it holds.
The result is a clean, cool, ashy silver — closer to a polished pewter than to platinum. It works beautifully as a full head of length on already-lightened hair, and it's one of the few shades that blends convincingly with natural grey.
Who this shade is for
If you're growing your grey out and want length or volume without colouring it, SB is usually a better match than platinum. Natural grey has depth and cool tone that a bright platinum flattens out completely.
If your own hair is professionally lightened, bring your colourist's formula or a photo in daylight when you book. Salon blondes vary hugely, and SB is a specific point on the scale rather than a catch-all pale shade.

Caring for a silver shade
Lightened hair is more porous than darker hair, which means silver picks up brassiness from hard water, chlorine and heat. Three things keep SB looking the way it did on day one:
Use a purple or silver toning shampoo every third or fourth wash, not every wash — over-toning turns silver lilac
Keep heat tools at a lower setting than you would on a darker shade
Rinse after swimming, before the chlorine has time to sit
Because this is real human hair, SB can be re-toned by a professional colourist whenever it starts to warm up. It cannot be lifted lighter.
